Spill Kit Audit and Maintenance Program

Is your operation in compliance? When was the last time your spill kits were inspected?

Every company should have a spill kit maintenance program in place to ensure readiness of your response kits and supplies. Your Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team should audit your kits on a minimum quarterly basis to look for deficiencies and to restore to performance capacity. Spill kit contents lists should be on file in a safe place and also placed near the kits so that all staff will know which supplies are depleted and require reordering. A good contents list also describes how to put the items into action when needed.
